Getting There //

Where is Transmission taking place?

Transmission '08 takes place in the picturesque Tyrolean city of Kufstein, Austria. Kufstein is located at the entrance of the Inn Valley, in west Austria. The main concert venue is the Festung, an elevated 14c castle / fortress located in the center of the city. This historical and exquisite venue is surounded by some of the most breath-taking alpine scenery to be experienced in Europe.

The Festung arena is an outdoor all-weather concert venue with an audience capacity of 4200. Live music will take place at this venue between 4:30pm and 11pm daily. Photographs and a video flyover of the venue can be seen on the Festungs website, www.festung.kufstein.at.

How do I get there?

The best way to get to Transmission Festival '08 is to use one of the many public transport options available to you. There are three international airports within a one hour drive from the festival site and the city is a major hub in the national and inter-country rail and bus networks. Transmission '08 strongly recommends that festival visitors book their rail and bus tickets in advance.

For detailed information on getting there by road, rail or by air, please see 'Getting There' on the main website menu.

On a carbon front, travelling by public transport is by far a greener (and also more convenient) way of getting to the festival. Transmission '08 would ask our visitors to please consider leaving your cars at home during the festival weekend. By using public transport, you show your respect for the environment and do your bit towards making the world a cleaner place. Every little counts!
